If you notice a crackling sound from your computers speakers when they are turned on and are playing sound, then it can make the sound irritating to your ears. If your computer speakers are making crackling noises, then the solutions are below to put it to a stop:
1)The sound card could be faulty, so plug the 3.5mm jack from the speakers, that connects into the green socket on the sound card into a mobile phone or mp3 player. Then to test if the sound card is the problem and is faulty, play a music file and turn on your computer speakers to a suitable listening volume. If you dont hearing any cracking, the sound card is the cause to the problem. So get a can of compressed air and attach the small straw to the can and insert the straw into the 3.5mm jack socket on sound card, give it a good spray. There could be dirt on the pins inside it that can cause crackling. If cleaning it doesnt solve anything, update the audio drivers, if that dont work, then replace the sound card.
2)Check the back wire of the speakers, if it looks look bent and weak, the wires are likely to be broken inside, causing them to touch against each other and cause crackling. So if you have some good soldering skills and the right tools for the job, you can cut the wires off and redo everything.
3)The speakers could be faulty or damaged from distortion, this can cause the voice coil to loose its touch. Check the speakers on a audio device that takes a 3.5mm jack, if you hear crackling, the speakers are knackered, so you will need to buy a new pair.
